About Me

Recently retired and interested in owning and breeding white and brown leghorn poultry. White leghorns mainly due to my dad keeping them and breeding them. His main reason for keeping them was egg production. He kept one white rooster and 19 hens. Apparently, that was the maximum allowable. All the young cockerals were reserved for Sunday diner. He used to measure out exactly how much feed to feed - no etras were allowed. He new exactly how long a bag of mash or wheat would last. As an extra they used to receive a push mower catcher of grass from our lawn twice a week.
